Māori abortion rates 2010:omnibus excerpt

Statistics New Zealand has released Abortion Statistics for 2010.  Overall, one quarter of abortions (around 4,000) were performed on Māori women.  The Māori rate was 26.9 abortions per 1,000 Māori women (aged 15–44 years), the general rate was 18.1 abortions per 1,000 women.

Household Labour Force Survey released:omnibus excerpt

Yesterday Statistics New Zealand released the Household Labour Force Survey for the quarter to the end of September 2011.  The survey shows an increase in unemployment from 6.5% to 6.6% of the workforce (from the June quarter 201).  For Māori the unemployment rise was greater increasing from 12.6% to 13.2%
