Te Ture Whenua Review – Submissions Released

This week a synthesis of submissions made in relation to the exposure draft of the proposed new Te Ture Whenua Māori bill was released.  This 127-page document (dated September 2015) outlines the views and concerns raised by 168 organisations and a further 224 individuals in regards to this proposed legislation.[1]

Māori and Pasifika Trades Training Initiative Extended

Yesterday the Minister for Māori Development, Te Ururoa Flavell, with the Minister for Tertiary Education, Steven Joyce, announced increases and improvements within the Māori and Pasifika Trades Training initiative.  By way of background, this is a pre-trade training initiative, designed to facilitate and encourage Māori and Pasifika learners into apprenticeships.
