Kōhanga Reo National Trust – Chief Executive dismissed, tertiary funding repaid: E25 26 July 2013

  This week the Kōhanga Reo National Trust (National Trust) repaid $780,000 in unwarranted funding to the Tertiary Education Commission (the Commission), and announced the dismissal of Chief Executive, Titoki Black, over this matter. Ngāti Haua sign Deed of Settlement from E25 week ending 26 July 2013

Last Thursday Ngāti Haua signed a Deed of Settlement with the Crown. The settlement includes financial redress of approximately $13 million, and the return of culturally significant sites.  One site being returned is Mount Maungakawa, which is within the Te Tapui Scenic Reserve (on-going public access is assured).  The settlement
